Waves have been great in all areas of the state since the beginning of autumn and waves look to continue to produce consistently through the upcoming season. Flatrock, one of the most exciting setups in Australia on monday produced some southerly monsters with a nearly all local affair. Some underground charging went down and lessons were learnt by some young southern groms. Main lander Sandy Ryan spent the day in the water, picking off paddle waves while Alex Zawadzki, Ian Chalmers and Shaun Wallbank punched their way down the faces of some wide wrapping barrels.

The day was cut short after everyone decided they’d had their share. But Tyler Hollmer waited until dark to paddle into one of his best waves out there over his last 10 years surfing the break. Mikey Brennan as usual got the wave of the day.
