H30

One thing has remained constant throughout the 30 years that I’ve been shooting surf, and that is waves. The first thing that I ever photographed, was a wave and today, I’m just as passionate about shooting them still. It’s been kinda quiet lately, as most freelance professionals will probably also tell you. I’ve been filling my creative needs by getting up early, like before the sun lately, so that I can just get a whole different look to what I’ve been doing all these years. The other advantage also is that I’m in and back out of the water before most others are even starting the day. That leaves me a whole day to get other stuff done that I need to do.
It’s nice to get in amongst the waves on a daily basis and refresh myself, especially here in Hawaii where the water is always tropical. I love that from an artistic point of view, the canvas is completely ever changing. I’m usually in there amongst it, looking for tubes and weird peaks and backwashes. Whatever really, I just dig how differently waves can photograph and I enjoy the challenge to keep coming up with newer cool perspectives. This pictorial represents 30 images which is actually just the tip of the iceberg, as far as my collection is concerned. That will be appearing very soon on my site under the pages tab. Keep an eye out for that very soon. Waves are coooooooooool!
