Hawaii Slops

Every year in December I pack up and go to Hawaii for a month to shoot images around the final competition of the WCT circuit.
It’s a really nice place to visit and great to see the world’s best in some challenging waves — but to tell you the truth it’s hardly worth it. The place turns into a circus, you will shoot some of the best images of your life but so will 100+ other photographers. Each year on average I shoot around 50gb of imagery. Multiply that by every other photographer in the world shooting the same 200 or so pro surfers at an 8km stretch of closeouts, hmm that doesn’t leave many pages in a magazine left to get a shot run.
So before they die a slow death into the depths of my 1TB hard drive — I bring you my “Hawaii Slops”.
