Daveys Wavey Gravy 01.23.10
There’s been so much big surf this year, so when the swell started
bottoming out this week, along with the small waves came ridiculously
clear water, the likes of which only happens a few times a year.
There wasn’t really any pro surfers out that I could see, but really,
I had no interest anyway, I just wanted to get out and amongst those
perfect shining green magnets. A chick I know cruised past and I
got a a coupla shots of her diving under a wave. The clarity is just
incredible in those images. It downright inspires me to want to
shoot more of this stuff. That’s for sure. Next week’s report
should be a cracker, with the 5 star Volcom Pipe pro about to
start. Gonna be one sick week of surfing! I also want to remind
everybody that I’m releasing a limited edtion of just 100 prints of
this image, entitled: “Waimea Power” from the recent giant Waimea
sessions. The big news though is that I’m donating 50% of all
proceeds from this image to The friends of Kehau Sullivan fund
