North Shore Weekly Rap

It’s been another weird week of poor weather conditions here on the north shore. It’s been howling trades for over a week now. I really feel sorry for anyone who just rocked up after hearing how good it’s been here all season. I would be such a let down. I personally know several friends who came over for a late season fest, only to be just about totally skunked.
There has been plenty of swell around though, so I guess some crew may have been driving around the island, looking for protection from the relentless winds. My ol’ mate Kye Fitzgerald and his young protege Max Tagliabue were two of those unfortunate souls who rocked up only to see it destroyed before their very eyes. They did manage to get a few decent sessions in though before it all went to crapola.
Pancho Sullivan’s daughter Hehau’s fundraiser was a huge success at the Hard Rock Cafe this friday just past. One of the best line-ups of Hawaiian musicians ever graced the stage while dozens of pro surfer surfboards were donated to the cause, even a Fender electric guitar was donated by Eddie Veder and signed by all the members of Pearl Jam. I’ve also teamed up with Kelly Slater to offer an extremely limited edition print of only 20 copies of signed by Kelly, of him surfing at his peak during the recent Eddie Aikau event. All proceeds will go straight to the friends of Kehau Sullivan fund. ( http://www.friendsofkehausullivan.com ) These are very, very special prints. watch out for upcoming announcements for the auction of these prints, along with Eddie Veder’s beautiful Fender guitar.
